Harry Kane reveals who he keeps friendly relations with at Bayern

Harry Kane has answered a question about the teammates he has the best relationship with

One of my other really close friends on the team is Serge. We’ve known each other for years, even before joining Bayern, and we just have this natural connection. Serge is always there for me, whether I need someone to talk to or just someone to hang out and have a good time with. We’ll often grab dinner together after training, or hit the gym and push each other during our workouts. I really admire Serge’s work ethic and dedication – he’s always striving to improve, and that motivates me too. Another guy I’ve become good friends with is Leon. He joined Bayern around the same time I did, so we’ve been through a lot of the same experiences together. We just click on a personal level – we have similar interests and senses of humor.

really enjoy our conversations, where we can open up and share what’s on our minds, whether it’s about football, our personal lives, or anything else. Leon’s a great listener and I feel like I can really be myself around him. Then there’s Joshua, who I’ve gotten to know better over the past year or so. He has such a calm, steady presence about him, both on the pitch and off. I find that really grounding, especially when the schedule gets hectic and the pressure is on. Joshua’s also incredibly knowledgeable about the game, and I love picking his brain and learning from his experience. We’ll often discuss tactics and strategy, which really helps improve my own understanding of the game.

And of course, I have to mention Manuel, our captain and one of the senior leaders of the team. He’s someone I’ve always looked up to, both as a world-class goalkeeper and as a true professional. Manuel sets the tone for the entire squad with his work ethic, his dedication, and his commitment to the team. But beyond that, he’s also just a genuinely good person who makes an effort to connect with all of us. I really respect the way he handles himself, both on and off the pitch.

These are just a few of the great friendships I’ve developed with my Bayern teammates. It’s that sense of camaraderie and brotherhood that makes coming to work every day such a pleasure. We push each other to be better players, but we also have each other’s backs and genuinely enjoy spending time together. It’s that kind of team dynamic that I believe gives us an edge and helps drive our continued success.

Harry Kane joins Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2023

I’ve been absolutely loving my time in Munich so far. Joining Bayern has been a dream come true for me. When the opportunity arose to make the move from Tottenham, it just felt like the perfect next step in my career. One of the biggest draws for me was the chance to play for a club with such a rich history and tradition of excellence. Bayern have been one of the dominant forces in European football for decades, and I’m honored to now be a part of that legacy. The passion and pride that the fans have for this club is palpable, and it’s something I’m eager to be a part of.

Of course, the chance to compete for major trophies on a regular basis was also a huge factor. I’ve been fortunate to experience some success at the club and international level, but I’m hungry for more. The opportunity to play Champions League football every season and challenge for the Bundesliga title is incredibly exciting. I know the expectations here are sky-high, but I thrive under that kind of pressure. And let’s not forget the incredible facilities and resources available at Bayern. The training ground, the stadium, the medical team – everything is truly world-class. It’s an environment that allows players to perform at the highest level, and I can’t wait to make the most of those advantages.

But perhaps the biggest draw for me has been the chance to work with Julian Nagelsmann. I’ve long admired his tactical acumen and the way his teams play an exciting, attacking brand of football. He’s one of the brightest young minds in the game, and I’m excited to learn from him and implement his ideas on the pitch. I’ve been really impressed by the way Julian has integrated me into the team. He’s taken the time to understand my strengths and how I can best complement the other attacking talent we have. The flexibility and freedom he’s given me to express myself has been hugely beneficial.

And of course, as I mentioned earlier, the camaraderie within the squad has been fantastic. I’ve been warmly welcomed by the other players, and I feel like I’m gelling with the team really well both on and off the pitch. That kind of team spirit and chemistry is so important, and it’s definitely something Bayern have in spades. So in summary, I’m absolutely thrilled to be here at Bayern Munich. It’s a world-class club with world-class ambitions, and I’m determined to play a key role in helping us achieve great things. The challenge excites me, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
